Software M&A Up Almost 16 Percent Over 2005

InformationWeek reports on year-to-date mergers and acquisitions activity in the information technology sector.

As reported in InformationWeek, according to Capital IQ, a Standard & Poor's division, there were more than 450 mergers and acquisitions during the second quarter in IT services and enterprise software, security, and storage.  M&A transactions among IT companies in the first half of 2006 grew by 15.6 percent over 2005.
