| May 31, 2007 | | VA Software Sharpens Focus on Online Media | CollabNet recently announced its purchase of VA Software's SourceForge Enterprise Edition business in consideration for an equity ownership stake in CollabNet. The parties have also entered into a 30 month media relationship for online advertising services. The acquisition complements CollabNet's software development platform for distributed teams and enables VA Software to focus on its online media properties. VA Software has changed its name to SourceForge related to this strategy. According to Ali Jenab, CEO of SourceForge (formerly, VA Software), "Going forward, our executive management team will be keenly focused on growing our core online media assets, comprised of SourceForge.net®, ITManagersJournal.com, Slashdot.org, NewsForge.com, Linux.com, freshmeat.net and ThinkGeek.com. Together, these sites attract over 32 million unique visitors a month." Updata Advisors acted as financial advisor and provided a fairness opinion to VA Software Corporation. | | |
