Barracuda Networks Acquires NetContinuum

Barracuda Networks a leading provider of anti-spam and web filtering appliances has added web application firewalls to its security offerings with the acquisition of NetContinuum. According to the announcement, the acquisition will enable Barracuda to offer easy-to-use appliances that secure web sites and assist e-commerce merchants in complying with requirement 6.6 of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

Dean Drako, president and CEO of Barracuda Networks said, “By combining Barracuda Networks’ strengths and sales channel reach with very mature and highly acclaimed NetContinuum products, we are confident that we will deliver industry-leading capabilities to a set of customers who had previously been unable to deploy Web site security solutions.”
