Capgemini's Sogeti To Acquire Software Architects Inc.

Global IT Services Firm Expands U.S. Reach, Strengthens Position in Key Local Markets

Capgemini announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Software Architects, integrating the IT consulting provider with its subsidiary, Sogeti USA.  According to Paul Hermelin, Capgemini Group's CEO, this acquisition reaffirms Capgemini's commitment to strengthening its positioning in the US market.  Together, Sogeti USA and Software Architects will employ 2,000 people in 24 cities.

The acquisition is representative of a trend cited in Updata Capital's recently published 2007 Outlook of M&A activity in the IT services sector driven by continued emphasis on the global delivery of services.

Updata Capital initiated the transaction, acted as financial advisor and assisted in the negotiations for Sogeti USA.
